Ceiling of fast food restaurant collapses, several injured

Fourteen people were injured this afternoon when the ceiling of a Mc Donald’s restaurant collapsed in the Once neighbourhood, police sources said. Four pregnant women and two minors were found among the people hurt.
The incident took place at the Mc Donald’s located on Avenida Pueyrredon 200, where first responders quickly arrived at the scene.
All of the injured were taken to the Ramos Mejía Hospital.
According to the restaurant employees, it was actually debris from a building on top of the Mc Donald’s and went through the ceiling, injuring the customers who were standing close to the cashiers.
None of the injured patrons seemed to be gravely injured, for which they were soon released from the hospital.
“It wasn’t that our ceiling just collapsed. Our facilities are in perfect conditions. But apparently it’s a structure of the movie theater on top of us that just fell on our ceiling,” a corporate official said.
