The lawyer of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, Eduardo Fachal, deemed that the evidence handed by Sergio Schoklender to judge Norberto Otarbide aren’t relevant to the case and said the Foundation’s former financial manager planned everything with much anticipation.
“A person who wants to commit a fraud first wins the confidence of the people surrounding him. I think this was planned with a lot of anticipation.”
“I have seen part of the boxes that were opened in Oyarbide’s court and there are no documents or material that are relevant to the case.”
“I saw subway tickets, bus tickets, annulled invoices. If that’s the evidence Schoklender contributed, I really don’t know what’s the basis of his comments,” Fachal stated.
While addressing reporters on Monday night, Fachal indicated that the account denounced by Schoklender and reportedly belonging to Bonafini was closed in 2006, despite that the former financial manager assured that it remains open.
“I talked to Hebe, and I was showed a letter written to the Asturias bank, whose account was closed in 2006 with a 1800 € balance. And I don’t understand why Schoklender instead of making media denouncements, doesn’t focus in defending himself in the case,” Fachal added.
Likewise Fachal dismissed the alleged financing of the Kirchnerite campaign with Mother of Plaza de Mayo funds denounced by Schoklender. “The only thing we know is that the printer was managed by Pablo Schoklender, and that the trucks were under Meldoreks’s name, which is a business that belongs to Schoklender,” he said.
