The National Electoral Chamber (CNE) has reversed the decision to set the maximum number of ballot papers at 25 in each voting station in the upcoming national PASO primary elections.
According to ámbito.com, the CNE has decided to raise the maximum number of ballot papers to 350.
Earlier, the candidate for Buenos Aires province governor Vilma Ripoll (MST-Nueva Izquierda) had filed a complaint against the CNE’s decision alleging the move could encourage electoral fraud.
Other candidates had also presented petitions to dismiss the measure.
National Elector Director Alejandro Tullio rejected the opposition fraud claims ahead of the August 9 run, demanding sanctions in case of “baseless” statements, but the CNE later reversed its decision.
