There is no «blue» but illegal dollar, lawmaker Carlos Heller said following Tuesday’s climb in the parallel market that saw the American currency skyrocket to 15.09 pesos.
“An illegal action that takes place in illegal places like underground houses becomes natural; it is like talking about the raise of the cocaine bag,” the Solidarity Party MP told the Radio America station this morning.
“There is no reason in the real economy to justify this surge; it is a speculating maneuver induced to create concern in pre-electoral times, weeks ahead of the PASO national primaries,” Heller stated blasting what he called “market coups.”
“The actions by (Claudio) Bonadío and the Nisman case failed to undermine the trust of citizenship in the government, so with very little money and marginal actions they try these maneuvers. Market coups are not new in Argentina,” he warned alluding to a recent decision by Federal Judge Claudio Bonadío ordering a raid in the offices of the Hotesur company owned by the Kirchner family and the death of AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman who was found with a gunshot to his head in his Buenos Aires City apartment back in January.
