INDEC reveals trade surplus down 57% in June

The National Statistics and Census Institute (INDEC) has announced that Argentina’s foreign trade surplus fell 57 percent during June, bringing in a total of 456 million dollars over the month.

According to the report released by the state statistics bureau, exportations dropped by 14 percent compared to the same period last year. Imports showed less variation but were also on the slide, falling 7 percent in June.

The surplus recorded for the first six months of 2015 totals 1.23 billion dollars, almost half of the US$3.33 billion registered by INDEC for the first half of 2014.
