Argentina captain Lionel Messi spoke today about his regret in missing out on the Copa America title, the first time he has made statements in public since the nation lost on penalties to Chile in Saturday’s final.
In a short message published on his official Facebook page, the Barcelona star broke his silence after cutting a dejected figure on the Estadio Nacional turf following the penalty shoot-out defeat.
«There’s nothing more painful in football than losing a final,» Messi admitted
«But I don’t want to leave it any longer to say thank you to everyone who has always supported us and continued to during the tough moments.»
