Head of ministers Aníbal Fernández questioned Victory Front (FpV) members seeking to compete in the PASO primaries, for failing to respond to President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner who last week called candidates for a “humility bath.”
“It seems tragicomic because the President (Cristina Fernández de Kirchner) calls for a humility bath and all of them came out to ratify their candidacies,” the cabinet chief said in statements to media today.
Fernández, who has publicly confirmed his hopes to compete in the primaries for governor of the province of Buenos Aires, said political will will allow to determine who gets to compete and who doesn’t, “including myself, I will not commit the same mistake either.”
“Let’s hope the President makes the decision and we will see who is really in conditions to participate and who is not. There is no more than that; few days are missing,” he said referring to the June 10 deadline to register electoral alliances.
“Decisions can be made from a political point of view (considering) the convenience for the FpV,” Fernández pointed out explaining he “did not look at polls.”
