AFIP: Tax revenue rises 21.5% in April

Total tax revenues in April reached 112.66 billion pesos, according to the Federal Public Incomes Administration (AFIP), a figure 21.5 percent higher than in the same period last year.

AFIP president Ricardo Echegary presented the figures for April today in a press conference, while announcing that so far in 2015 the organism has raised 442.7 billion pesos in revenues.

That total is almost 29 percent up on the amount collected between January and April 2014.

April’s takings, however, showed a slowdown compared to previous months, where yearly rises of around 30 percent were registered. The principal cause was a sharp decline in exportation retentions, down 32.4 percent compared to April 2014.

Importation rights also fell, down 11.5 percent. Value added tax revenues rose 23 percent meanwhile, to 25.23 billion pesos across the month. One of the highest increases was seen in income tax revenue, a figure 35 percent up on last April.
