Reserves reach US$33.9bn after second YPF injection

The international reserves of the Central Bank have soared up to 33.9 billion dollars, after state-owned petroleum company YPF made a significant desposit into the accounts of the Nación bank to boost entity’s funds.

Sources from the monetary authority indicated that, after the injection of some 800 million dollars today from YPF, reserves rocketed 684 million dollars to creep close to a total of US$34 billion.

The upward trend continues from yesterday, when the Central Bank made a record purchase on the exchange market. Those funds also came from the petroleum concern, which raised roughly 1.5 billion dollars in a debt auction last week.
