Uribarri downplays voting intention surveys which are used to ‘operate’

Governor of Entre Ríos province and presidential hopeful Sergio Urribarri today acknowledged there are great differences among the Victory Front candidates who are willing to compete in the upcoming primaries and in October general elections.

He furthermore downplayed some voting intention surveys, which according to the official are used to «operate.» «Some believe in these polls, but 99 percent of the votes belong to our leader,» he said in reference to president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

«There are enormous differences within our space due to our origins and what we did in our places. We are on a space where we must respect Cristina’s leadership,» Uribarri added in statements to FM Nacional Rock radio station.

For the governor, «there are four candidates with important spaces in Clarín, such as (Sergio) Massa, (Mauricio) Macri, (Daniel) Scioli and (Florencio) Randazzo. Each of them knows why they are having such promotion on those media outlets,» he fired.

«I will participate in the PASO and my enemy is Macri, which is par excellence the anti-project. He realized in the last days he was wrong when he opposed the YPF nationalization, the AFJP or the assisted fertilization. Like the chameleon, he changed his colour but his colour isn’t the yellow, but the anti-popular colour.» «He has two faces and people do not believe him,» he stressed about City Mayor Mauricio Macri and leader of the PRO party, who is running for president.

Uribarri spoke about his own chances to become president. «Argentines will urge candidates to show what they did in their cities, and we have transformed the province,» he stated.

And added: «We have managed to turn an isolated province into one which has registered the largest growth within the central region. I hope everyone has these kind of things to show.»
