Arroyo Salgado, Fein exchange fire over Nisman’s death case

Prosecutor Viviana Fein and Judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado, the ex wife of late Alberto Nisman, have exchanged fire after Fein told media the homicide hypothesis “does not exist” in the case. Arroyo Salgado hit back to demand no more «lies» to the people.

Earlier today, hours before the experts representing the plaintiff show up in her office to explain the forensic report that was released last week, highlighting that Alberto Nisman “did not commit suicide,” Fein spoke with reporters and said the so called “point 12” of such report “did not exist.”

That point indeed refers to Alberto Nisman being murdered and particularly that he was on his knees when he was allegedly shot by an attacker, all according to the plaintiff’s report.

“I have no point 12. I don’y know what it refers to, because about the mechanic (of the death) it is not being talked about; I don’t know. The point 12 does not exist, there is nothing; about the content I can not talk till the plaintiff’s experts and the official experts meet,” the prosecutor told reporters of the Vorterix radio.

Furthermore, Fein also expressed some criticism of the way the ex wife of Alberto Nisman presented the report. “The plaintiff took some time to make the presentation (…) It was less than a week ago,” she stressed.

Alberto Nisman was found dead on January 18 and the forensic report conducted by the team of experts hired by the mother of Nisman’s two daughters was only released more than a month after his death.

The response

Minutes after Fein talked with the Guetap radio show, Arroyo Salgado contacted the program to express her disagreement with the prosecutor’s comments.

“The point 12 does exist. It is a disregard of the truth. Let’s not lie to people anymore,” the judge stated.

“The content of the point 12, which is in the file and is in the prosecutor’s office, speaks about the mechanic of the gunshot,” Arroyo Salgado explained as she ratified her position that Alberto Nisman’s death was a “homicide.”

Saying she did not want to go into a controversy with Viviana Fein, Sandra Arroyo Salgado did stress the “scientific work” carried out by the plaintiff’s experts was of “much rigour.”

“What worries us the most is that the report was presented on Thursday. They could have moved forward with the content of the report (…). The prosecutor preferred to listen to other testimonies which we find complementary,” Nisman’s ex wife affirmed.

Both the experts of the plaintiff and the official experts are expected to meet today to discuss the differences between the forensic results thrown by the reports on the death of the AMIA special prosecutor.
