Federal prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita ratified his decision to appeal judge Daniel Rafeca’s dismissal of late Alberto Nisman’s complaint accusing President Cristina Fernández and several top government officials of seeking to cover up Iran’s alleged involvement in the 1994 bombing against the AMIA.
“The indicted, the people, society (…) and AMIA victims deserve an investigation,” Pollicita said to Vorterix radio station. “You can agree with Nisman or with Rafecas but there has to be an investigation, a conclusion,” he added.
He explained that his decision to file the appeal was motivated by “procedural” concerns on Rafeca’s ruling. “When I read Rafecas resolution I notice that he is certain that there is no crime (…) I understand the conviction but I criticize it on procedural grounds,” the prosecutor said.
