Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich denounced a “direct correlation between removed Intelligence agents and prosecutors and judges” to carry out “strategies for social upheaval.”
Yesterday, the Association of Magistrates and Officials of the National Justice (AMFJN) responded to statements by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner who considered the February 18 rally organized by prosecutors the “baptism of fire” of what she called the “Judicial Party.”
“The Judicial is not a party but a Power of the State,” the AMFJN said in a statement.
Speaking at his daily press briefing at the government house, Capitanich accused the magistrates of being “part of the opposition” and said that “there is absolutely no doubt that there is a permanent and systematic political action from the Magistrates Association.”
“It is not an independent association, it is based on corporate pressure,” he stressed and called for an “independent, autonomous” Judiciary, mainly from corporations.
“A part of the Judicial branch is definitely carrying out actions (against the government), from injunctions that prevent (the implementation) of laws passed by the Congress (…) to harassment with made-up cases,” the Kirchnerite official said.
