The US dollar today traded one cent higher and closed at 8.73 pesos in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices. The official rate has increased 0.8 percent, or seven cents, this month, and 16.5 cents in 2015.
Meanwhile, the so called «blue» dollar closed steady at 13.11 pesos after climbing 9 cents earlier in the trading session. Yesterday, the «blue» increased nine cents. The gap between both rates is now at around 50%.
The blue-chip swap rate decreased 15 cents to 11.74 pesos, and the stock market dollar rate dropped 12 cents to 11.88 pesos.
The Central Bank sold 15 million dollars to avoid a further increase in the official rate.
