Secretary General to the Presidency Aníbal Fernández said today that the silent march called by a group of prosecutors “was not, as it was expected, a demonstration to pay tribute to anyone, but an opposition rally.”
“If you read the (news) websites, you will find insults to the President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, just like in any other opposition rally,” the official said to reporters early this morning.
He also referred to the cries of “justice” heard in the march. “We have to remember that the government does not administer justice, that’s on the judge,” Fernández said. “There are exceptional judges on the one hand and, on the other, there are those who work until 13.30, do not pay income taxes, have 45 vacations days,” he added.
The official went on to criticize judges who are prone to order injunctions but always to favour those who have the most, and who refuse to take on tax evasion cases.
He also accused “some of the prosecutors that headed the march yesterday” of issuing “a calling to destabilize” the government. “The people has to know that this is going on inside the head of these people who care very little for their jobs,” Fernández stated.
