Informal dollar drops to 13.25 pesos

The US dollar today closed unchanged at 8.675 pesos in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices.

Today, as well as yesterday, importers faced heavy restrictions in purchasing the currency, and difficulties continued as the Central Bank refused to sell to businesses, according to City sources.

The so called «blue» dollar fell five cents to close at 13.25 pesos.

The parallel rate continued on a downward path that has seen it drop 35 cents so far this week, closing the gap with the official valuation, whcih is now at 52.24 percent.

Meanwhile, the blue-chip rate dropped 17 cents to close at 12.10 pesos, while the stock market dollar gained four cents to close at 12.54 pesos.
