Capitanich: Complaint has no supporting evidence

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich reiterated that the complaint filed by AMIA prosecutor Alberto Nisman against the Kirchnerite administration for an alleged cover up of Iran’s involvement in the bombing of the Jewish centre in 1994 “has no supporting evidence.” He ratified that one of the men listed as Intelligence agents by Nisman does not work for the Intelligence Secretariat (SI).

The chief of ministers stated that “the people listed (in the complaint) as SI agents –particularly Ramón Allan Bogado- are not registered as public servants” but he refused to make any further comments on Nisman’s death.

“The words in President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s letter exempt me from making any other statements on this matter,” he said to reporters in his daily press briefing at the government house.

“However, I think it is important to ratify that the complaint filed (by Nisman) has no supporting evidence.”

He also rejected an increase in bilateral trade between Iran and Argentina after the sign of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2013 –for a joint investigation of the 1994 AMIA bombing- and the lifting of Interpol red notices against Iranian officials, both mentioned by Nisman as proves of the “impunity deal” between Buenos Aires and Tehran.
