Cristina makes public appearance in Olivos

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has made her first public appearance in 23 days, signing an agreement with wine producers in Olivos after spending three weeks in convalescence due to an ankle injury.

Details of the meeting were released late today in a move that took media outlets by surprise. In photos released to press agencies, Cristina can be seen alongside representatives of the wine industry, as well as government officials and governors of Mendoza and San Juan provinces, Francisco ‘Paco’ Pérez and José Luis Gioja.

CFK used a wheelchair during the encounter, as she continues her recovery from a fall sustained in Río Gallegos over the Christmas holidays.

The head of state’s return to activity coincided with accusations from AMIA bombing prosecutor Alberto Nisman that she and other high-ranking Kirchnerite officials were involved in covering up Iranian citizens’ involvement in the 1994, in order to push through a trade deal with the middle-eastern nation.
