For the third day in a row, the official trade dollar closed one cent higher at 8.60 pesos, while the Argentine Central Bank sold 60 million dollars; not enough to hold it steady.
Due to tougher currency controls, the so called ‘blue’ dollar remained unchanged at 13.75 pesos, narrowing the gap between the official and the informal US dollar at 59 percent.
Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap rate was 12 cents lower at 11.97 pesos, as the stock exchange price gained one cent at 12.50 pesos.
So far this year, the official dollar has increased 3.5 cents.
