The Buenos Aires province government has offered a “qualitative wage improvement” to teachers unions, during the second meeting between gov’t officials and union representatives over the 2015 salary increase.

A rise between seven and 12 percent would become effective between the months of January and February, aside from the general wage increase to be negotiated next year.

The meeting was held in the Economy Ministry, in the city of La Plata.

Government officials said they are also looking to “improve the quality of teachers’ salaries by reordering wage scales and increasing basic wages.”
