‘Blue’ dollar climbs to 13.17 pesos

The so called “blue” dollar today climbed 32 cents to reach the price of 13.17 pesos in the beginning of the financial week, after rising 15 cents last week to 12.85 pesos.

The blue-chip swap rate traded 26 cents lower at 11.39 pesos, while the stock exchange dollar was down 18 cents at 11.67 pesos.

The official rate of the US currency, meanwhile, closed unchanged at 8.565 pesos in banks and foreign exchange agencies. The Central Bank once more intervened heavily in the market, purchasing 60 million dollars to boost its reserves which last Thursday broke the 30 billion dollar mark for the first time since January.
