The head of the ANSES social security agency Diego Bossio strongly criticised the decision by Martín Insaurralde to quit his parliamentary seat and resume his duties as mayor of the Buenos Aires province locality of Lomas de Zamora.
“This kind of things are pretty much disconcerting, give no certainty, create permanent ambiguities that finally make no right neither to people nor to politics,” Bossio told reporters this morning.
In an interview with a radio show, the ANSES chief compared Martín Insaurralde with physician and ex lawmaker Eduardo Lorenzo Rodríguez known as “Borocotó,” who was elected for Congress in 2005 under the PRO party ballot but moved to the ruling Victory Front bloc as soon as assuming his post.
“We are possibly in presence of the new Borocotó of these times and hope society notices that when one is not conscious of his ideas and actions evidently is turning the back on people,” the official affirmed pointing out that “speculation” is never a good ally of political actions as it shows a “disassociation with voters’ will and with those who trust in officials” to fulfill their duties.
“The more politics are distant from speculation, the better. When politics look like a table for money operations it evidently distances from the needs of people and of those who trusted in a duty being fulfilled within the margins of a (political) project.”
Queried about if Insaurralde’s decision could pave the way for his own electoral chances to compete for the province of Buenos Aires in next year’s run, Bossio said he is only focused on solving the problems of thousands of Argentineans.
“It is now time to work, to resolve the everyday problems of thousands of Argentineans; we are making thousands of homes across our country, the rest are matters to be analised when the time is right,” the ANSES head said.
“Electoral times will come and we will then see how can one contribute mainly knowing that I love the province (of Buenos Aires), that I pretend it gets better and that many things get to change.”
