The informal rate of the US currency, the so called «blue» dollar, plummeted 8 cents to 12.70 pesos today, amid fear of renewed government controls in underground foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires City.
Meanwhile, the US dollar traded steady to close at 8.565 pesos in the City’s banks and foreign exchange offices.
The blue-chip swap rate gained 23 cents to 11.53 pesos today after a 36-cents plunge yesterday, while the stock exchange rate climbed 28 cents to close at 11.79 pesos.
After concluding the third stage of the swap negotiated with the Chinese Central Bank, the Argentine Central Bank reserves today totaled 30.176 million dollars: the highest amount since last January.
