Buenos Aires province Security Minister Alejandro Granados said that the government is confident that the looting and social upheaval of last year’s December will not be repeated this year, but he warned “those planning to make mischief” to “think again.”
“We are awfully better prepared than last year,” Granados said in an interview with Mitre radio. “We see no inconvenients in the horizon. We need to bring calm to citizens, business owners,” he added.
In October, Buenos Aires provincial authorities announced that they were outlining a plan to prevent looting. Granados met with supermarket owners to discuss the situation.
