Public transport strike to affect early-morning commuters on Thursday

Public transport unions will be staging a 3-hour strike on Thursday to protest the government’s decision to not exempt the salary bonus workers are paid twice a year – in July and December -, from the income tax scheme.
Thousands will be coping with traffic complications tomorrow as ground, air and maritime transport workers will be walking off their jobs from 4-7 am with anti-government CGT labour confederation leader Hugo Moyano urging the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration to “pay attention” to the conflict.
In her official comeback to public scene yesterday, however, President Kirchner refused to update the income tax system, refusing also to exempt the so called “aguinaldo” workers receive both in June and December as a salary bonus from the controversial tax.
