The informal rate of the US currency fell five cents to 13.50 pesos today, in a quiet market amid government inspections in underground foreign exchange houses in downtown Buenos Aires.
Meanwhile, the US dollar closed steady at 8.53 pesos in banks and foreign-exchange offices.
The blue-chip swap rate rebounded two cents to 11.77 pesos having fallen earlier in the day, while the stock exchange rate fell past the 12 peso mark, dropping 11 cents to 11.99 pesos.
