‘Blue’ dollar steady at 13.50 pesos in a quiet market

The informal rate of the US currency today traded unchanged at 13.50 pesos in underground exchange houses, as legal exchange offices and banks remain closed today for Bankers Day holiday.

Yesterday, the so called “blue” dollar dropped 10 cents in its sixth consecutive fall as traders chose to keep a low profile due to growing government raids against exchange houses.

It has dropped 78 cents this month, trading at its lowest level since last August.

The gap between the «blue» and the official dollar is at 58.4%.

Due to the holiday, there are no operations for the official US currency nor the blue-chip swap or stock exchange rates today.
