The US dollar closed one cent up at 8.50 pesos today in Buenos Aires City banks and exchange offices.
The blue-chip swap rate was 37 cents up to 14.07 pesos while the stock exchange rate jumped 9 cents to 13.64 pesos.
The “blue” dollar fell back by two cents to 14.68 pesos today after jumping five cents on Friday, following a 25-cent plunge last week, amid growing fear of tighter government controls in the illegal market.
The gap between the official and black market valuations stands at 72.8 percent.
