Explosives used in ATM robbery

A group of at least four men used home-made explosives to rob an ATM cash dispenser in a bank in Mataderos neighbourhood in Buenos Aires City today. A 25-year old suspect was arrested six blocks away from the bank.

Around 5 am today, a home-made explosive was detonated to crack open a cash dispenser of Patagonia bank in Juan Bautista Alberdi avenue and Guardia Nacional Street.

Police authorities said that at least four men arrived to the bank in a Volkswagen Bora and detonated the explosives using a 12-volt battery. Then, they used a torch to access the money inside the ATM machine.

The men then escaped the site and threw nails all over the street to prevent police patrols from chasing them. However, the police forces managed to arrest a suspect a few blocks away from the bank.
