‘Blue’ dollar falls to 14.73 pesos; official rate climbs to 8.49 pesos

The informal rate fell four cents to 14.73 pesos today, amid rumours of new government controls in the illegal market.

The blue-chip swap rate, meanwhile, rose 13 cents to 13.37 pesos and the stock exchange market jumped 21 cents to 13.24 pesos, albeit with few operations taking place on a quiet day for the market.

The official US dollar rate climbed half a cent to reach 8.49 pesos in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices.

The gap between the official and black market valuations stands at 72.6 percent.
