Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich and Economy minister Axel Kicillof came before the Lower House of Congress today in order to present the government budget for 2015.
Capitanich revealed that the numbers presented for 2015 were based on a growth rate of 2.8 percent, inflation of 15.6 percent and a dollar worth 9.45 pesos.
The government also forecast export incomes worth 82.42 billion dollars for the coming year, compared to 73.22 billion dollars in imports which would set Argentina’s trade surplus at US$9.2bn.
The presentation, which began just before 4.30pm, was made before a meeting of the chamber’s Budget Committee, chaired by lawmaker Roberto Feletti and with Lower House president Julián Domínguez also in attendance.
«We have been punctual and proper in making the presentation of this extremely important project,» Kicillof underlined during his address to Congress.
According to the figures released by Kicillof and Capitanich, income for 2015 would total 1.4 trillion pesos, an increase of 28.1 percent (30.2% in terms of GDP), while spending would rise 13.2 percent to $1.2 trillion.
The project pointed out that investment would rise 0.8 percent, while 35.5 percent of spending was earmarked for social security.
