Trade balance drops 28% in first semester

According to the INDEC statistic bureau, trade balance decreased 28 percent during the first six months of 2014 compared to the same period last year.

INDEC reported today the difference between imports and exports reached a 3,684 million dollar gain during the first semester of the current year, while 2013’s total was 5,147 million dollars.

The total exported amount so far is 36,778 million dollars (10% less than in 2013), and the total imported amount accounts for 33,094 million dollars (8% less than in 2013).

The “Argentine Commercial Exchange Report” also noted a 13.5% increase in the trade balance during June. Private analyst dispute this figure, saying the trade balance fell 1.6%.
