Prosecutor José María Campagnoli is back in office in the City neighbourhood of Saveedra, after being reinstated as prosecutor by the impeachment tribunal that judged him for alleged malfeasance. “I did nothing wrong,” he said and described the impeachement as part of a “harassment” strategy.
“I think my inquiries discomforted powerful people and that is why the impeachment was encouraged,” Campagnoli said to reporters.
He expressed his optimism for being back at work but stressed the importance of assembling his team back together. “If I cannot have an adequate secretary, the public service will be of low quality,” he said.
Campagnoli explained he aims to start working “in the same conditions” as when he was forced to leave the Prosecutors office.
