‘Blue’ dollar up to 12.25; US dollar steady at 8.17

The “blue” dollar rose today by five cents to close at 12.25 pesos in the parallel market, boosted by winter vacations purchases. The US dollar continued to chart a steady path in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices, trading at 8.17 pesos.

Yesterday, the Central Bank bought u$s40 million, raising its reserves by 6 millions, to u$s29.6 billion.

The blue-chip swap rate, meanwhile, fell to 10.08 pesos, while the stock exchange rate descended to close at 11.02 pesos.
