Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich praised the progress made yesterday in negotiations with UTA Transport Union that allowed to prevent a national strike initially announced for today and said the government is making similar efforts to try to avert the walkout that bank workers have planned for tomorrow.
The Kirchnerite official said the federal government “will make its best effort” in talks with the Banking Association to prevent the 24-hour national strike announced for tomorrow by the Union to repudiate the repression against banking workers in Tucumán province.
The move is expected to affect all operations in both public and private financial entities. “We work along with Labour Ministry to garantee the provision of the country’s essential public services,” Capitanich said and explained that the government is “constantly encouraging dialoge to avoid such measures”
