Duhalde: ‘Scioli is the Francis of politics’

Former President Eduardo Duhalde described Buenos Aires province governor Daniel Scioli as “the Francis of politics”, referring to the Argentine Pope, and highlighted Scioli’s attitude towards criticism: “he never looks for confrontation,” he said.

“Scioli strikes me as the men society needs, with no hatred or hard feelings,” the ex head of state said in an interview with a radio show.

He also stressed that the governor “never picks up a fight with anyone” and that such is the reason why he compared him to the Pope. “He is the Francis of politics,” he asserted.

Referring to the financial situation in the province of Buenos Aires, Duhalde said Scioli has “a huge responsibility” and that he did not break up with Kirchnerism because “people would suffer.”
