Ex Culture Secretary Jorge Coscia said he has been offered an ambassador post but that he has declined the nomination. “The President (Cristina Fernández de Kirchner) will be remembered as the President of Culture,” he affirmed.
In an interview with a radio show, Jorge Coscia praised the appointment of folk singer Teresa Parodi to head the newly created Ministry of Culture and assured he resigned per request of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Parodi’s designation, the ex official considered, allows to “crown a phase,” following his 11-year term as a Kirchnerite official. “I am the minister who has been the most in this project of government,” Coscia pointed out.
This afternoon, in a rally at the Casa Rosada presidential house, Ms. Parodi will be sworn in by President Kirchner. The 66-year-old singer has a solid history in the defence of human rights, currently heading the ECUNHI cultural group that belongs to the Mothers of Plaza de Mayor human rights organization.
