Industrial leaders tell Kicillof of inflation ‘concern’

Representatives of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) today met with Economy Minister Axel Kicillof, telling the national government figure of their concerns over the nation’s inflation rate as they shared a lunch.

Kicillof heard from the UIA that the inflation issue was «concerning», in a meeting described by the Union as «positive». Head of the organisation Héctor Méndez was also in attendance, along with other members of the Ministry of Economy.

UIA vice-president José Urtubey later commented on the meeting, stating that new guidelines on informing prices were not discussed, while shedding some light on the issues raised during the encounter.

«The industrial situation, the trade balance with Brazil, inflation, which for us is a worrying issue, and restriction on material imports,» were the subjects analysed by Kicillof and the industrial organisation, according to Urtubey.
