«Today, the streets of Buenos Aires City look like a Sunday,» CGT Press Secretary and MP Omar Plaini said as he responded to criticism by Kirchnerites that the CGT-CTA walkout was “political.” “They are denying reality,” Plaini warned.
“The agenda of the organized labour movement involves a very important sector of society, it is a measure that is enshrined in the National Constitution,” Omar Plaini affirmed while briefing the press on the strike’s turnout along with other CGT figures and pointed out that neither «unionized workers nor informal sector workers» have received a government «response» to their demands over the past four years.
Queried about the statements by Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich who earlier today ratified the government’s position that today’s protest action was political and accused anti-kirchnerite unions of “restricting” the liberty of workers that “disagree” with the strike by halting public transportation and setting pickets across BA City – «a big national picket,» Capitanich said indeed -, Plaini considered the head of ministers should “weight” his comments.
“Citizenship knows the methods we called for. One more, they are denying reality,” the lawmaker responded and stressed unions that organized today’s strike «did not call for pickets.»
