Economy minister Axel Kicillof has revealed the second phase of the anti-inflationary scheme known as ‘Pricewatch’, while assuring that the project which aims to control prices of food and basic household items has so far been a «success».
Stating that the current Pricewatch program has been adhered to «99.99 percent of the time,» the minister announced today that the scheme would be extended to 108 more products, with the rollout expected in seven to 10 days across the nation.
With the latest additions, Kicillof promised that the total number of items covered would advance to 302. This will include for the first time gluten-free products, suitable for coeliacs, as well as a new agreement with wholesale suppliers.
The minister also admitted that there were problems with stock supplies during the first phase, also recognising issues with signage and displays in some major supermarket branches.
