The AFSCA media watchdog headed by Martín Sabbatella today approved the adjustment plan presented by media giant Clarín Group, following the requirements set up by the 2009 Media Law.
After a meeting of the board of directors which was scheduled for today, AFSCA authorities told reporters Clarín plan to divide itself into six units was “perfect and indisputable.”
Last month, Clarín’s cable company Cablevisión partially fulfilled requirements to adjust its channel grid as ordered by a series of AFSCA’s resolutions. Sabbatella said those changes were a necessary step before the department discussed the plan the company submitted after the Supreme Court deemed the Media Law constitutional.
