President meets families of Barracas fire victims

CFKPresident Cristina Fernández de Kirchner today met with the families of firefighters who lost their lives in last week’s tragic blaze in a Barracas warehouse.

The head of state received those who lost loved ones in the fire this afternoon in Government House, in a private meeting. The fire claimed the lives of nine members of the fire service and civil defence units, after engulfing an Iron Mountain facility located in the City neighbourhood.

Those present were invited by the Ministry of Security; whose head, Sergio Berni, greeted family members alongside CFK.

The president, who entered Government House for the first time since announcing pension rises last Tuesday, is expected to meet tomorrow with representatives of the government-allied CGT union, led by Antonio Caló.
