Familes and friends of Victory Front lawmaker and ex governor of the Santa Fe province Jorge Obeid will be paying their last respects at the Lar de Paz private cemetery located in the provincial locality of Monto Vera. 66-year-ol Obeid passed away on Tuesday after battling a terminal disease over the past years.
On Friday, Obeid’s health condition worsened having to be hospitalized at a provincial medical clinic where he died yesterday.
Current governor of Santa Fe Antonio Bonfatti is expected to join the service.
Earlier this morning, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich expressed the condolences of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and her government team.
“We are very sorry for the loss because he was a great political leader, a great governor, a great deputy and, above all, a great person,” Capitanich said.
