CFK resumes official activities at Olivos presidential residency

CFKAfter spending Christmas and New Year celebrations in the Southern City of El Calafate, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner returned to the Argentine capital Buenos Aires resuming official activities today at the Olivos presidential residency. CFK is expected to show up publicly on Wednesday.

According to official information, Ms. Kirchner will meet Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich, Economy Minister Axel Kicillof and Planning Minister Julio De Vido today. The head of state is also expected to hold a reunion with aides and state secretaries Carlos Zannini and Oscar Parrilli.

Back in October, the president was forced to undergo a head surgery after she was diagnosed with a blood clot. The recovery process involved almost no rallies or meetings at the Casa Rosada presidential palace. Ms. Kirchner did head the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Argentina’s return to democracy in December.

Following criticism by some opposition members who questioned CFK’s absence, the head of ministers Capitanich said yesterday that “the president is working everyday, at the front of the national government.”
