US dollar jumps three cents to 6.555 pesos, ‘blue’ trades at 10.07

dolarGreenbacks were trading two cents higher in the first financial week of 2014 following the 32-percent devaluation reached by Argentina’s peso currency last year. Rates were at 6.505 pesos for buyers and 6.555 for sellers at Buenos Aires City banks and exchange offices.

Meanwhile, the so called “blue” dollar was climbing seven cents to 10.02 pesos (buying price) and 10.07 (selling price). In 2013, informal market rates reached a historic peak of 10.45 pesos.
