Amid massive blackouts and an electricity consumption that hit another record yesterday, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich urged companies to implement a «system of scheduled cuts» to guarantee the service to thousands of consumers in the City.
Programmed cuts «are a solution,» he said in his daily press briefing at the Government House, adding companies yesterday implemented this strategy of scheduled power cuts which affected 80,000 users, amid an increasing demand.
He further stressed he and representatives of the Planning Ministry met «three or four days ago» with energy firms of the City of Buenos Aires.
Capitanich said in the long term, investments must continue, to generate more megawatts and to «improve the medium and high power lines.»
