CapitanichIn his daily press briefing at the Government House Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich today reacted to the White House comments on the Argentine Central Bank reserves, saying “I am worried about the US and UK debt level.” The US public debt reaches over 100 percent of its GDP, he warned.

He assured «75 percent of the Central Bank reserves were used to pay debt this government did not assume.”

He confirmed the government has set an agenda “regarding price agreements,” with December 22 as the deadline.

Capitanich also referred to labor negotiations: “There are 25 economic fields which are decisive to the price configuration,” he explained and added the government is working to meet the deadline for these price deals.

He denied the government is planning “an adjustment” and ratified cuts in public service subsidies.

The current administration has gained a “growing autonomy” due to the public debt renegotiation, the most successful in the history of mankind.”

He finally praised the government “is only seeking to boost exports, employment, and improve the quality of life of workers.”
