Buenos Aires City lawmakers passed the 2014 budget bill, worth an estimated 59.5 billion dollars, thanks to the votes of the Pro party and its allies, while the opposition rejected and criticized the project.
The new bill contemplates a 40 percent rise in municipal taxes, an inflation rate of 24 percent and an average dollar price of 6,90 pesos.
With the approval of 29 members, the ruling party led by City Mayor Mauricio Macri succeeded in passing their project.
Victory Front legislators, New Encounter representatives and other opposition parties voted against the new bill, while the Civic Coalition and Radical party decided to abstain.
