A Russian court today granted bail to Hernán Pérez Orsi arrested for a Greenpeace protest against offshore oil drilling in the Arctic along with other 29 foreigners. The Argentinean will have to remain in Russia till the trial is conducted.
According to the Greenpeace office in Buenos Aires, the Saint Petersburg tribunal will decide on Camila Speziale’s future also today.
David Haussmann of New Zealand and Ana Paula Maciel of Brazil were the first foreigners to be granted bail in hearings held to determine whether 30 people arrested in a protest at a drilling rig in September should remain in custody past November 24.
