Relatives of the 51 people who died in the Once train crash 20 months ago today warned that the rail infrastructure “is collapsed”, after the Sarmiento line suffered another collision at the weekend.
Paolo Menghini, the father of Lucas, who lost his life in the accident that took place in February 22 2011 sustained that “the disease that the line suffers affects the entire train structure”.
In addition, he refuted the idea of a “band of suicidal drivers trying to harm the Government”.
“To believe in that is to have a skewed view of reality”, Menghini expressed and concluded stating that despite a mutual responsibility between the state, workers and users “the elected Government is our main guarantee”.
